Conference Travel Funds
The Department of Statistics is accepting applications for up to a $500 travel award to help a UW-Madison undergraduate statistics major give a presentation at a statistics or closely related conference.
Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis. First deadline is February 5th. Final deadline for summer funding is April 15th.
Eligibility: UW-Madison undergraduate students declared in the Statistics major or Statistics certificate, who are giving a talk or presenting a poster at an academic conference. Students are encouraged to seek other funding opportunities to supplement their travel expenses.
Applications will be evaluated by the Statistics Undergraduate Committee. The recipients will be notified early March (first review, then notified monthly until funds are gone). If you have questions, please contact the statistics advisors at advising@stat.wisc.edu.
Statistics Department Sponsored Student ASA memberships
The Department of Statistics values each and every member. To help promote a diverse statistics community, the Department will award student memberships to the American Statistical Association (ASA) to students from groups that are underrepresented in Statistics and Data Science.
ASA student membership includes many benefits including subscriptions to Amstat News and Significance magazines; networking within the ASA Community; enhanced features of the ASA JobWeb and information about internships, resources, and career opportunities.
