Main research areas include Verification, Validation and Uncertainty Quantification, Decision-Making under Uncertainty, Statistical Machine Learning and A/B Testing (aka, statistical design for online experiments), with applications to physical sciences, engineering, and industry. Prof. Chien’s work has been widely adopted by Fortune 500 companies around the world in a wide range of industries.
