Statistics Computing Lab

Statistical Computing Lab (Consulting)

The Statistics Computing Lab located in 1280 Medical Sciences Center is an IT group that provides service and support for the Department of Statistics and its affiliates. Staff in the lab are here to help with a wide range of questions. At its core, the SCL is dual-faceted with support for departmental administrative computing as well as research computing needs.

If you have department level questions regarding desktop computing, software, printing, or accounts either email lab AT stat.wisc.edu or stop in room 1280 MSC to speak with a staff person.

Staff in the SCL are also well suited to assist you with your research computing needs, primarily in the areas of High Throughput Computing and High Performance Computing. The Department of Statistics maintains its own small-scale hybrid HPC and HTC cluster to enable students, faculty and staff access to a highly tailored computation environment that suits growing needs for teaching and learning as well as research. This cluster uses the widely adopted Simple Linux Utility for Resource Management (SLURM) as its job scheduler.
